Tea One Way" Ujien

Ujien will continue to contribute to people's health, healing of the mind, and enrichment of their lives, based on the knowledge and experience we have gained through our "single-minded commitment to tea" since our establishment in Yamashiro, Kyoto, the birthplace of tea, and using the sensitivity we have refined in Shinsaibashi, Osaka, the commercial capital of Japan. In addition to the sale of delicious teas, we also sell tea sweets, coffee shops, Japanese cafes, matcha bars, and other food and beverage businesses in Japan and overseas, as well as overseas franchises.

Toasting the World with Japanese Tea

Bottled with the same aromatic and deep tea flavor.

Bottled with the same aromatic and deep tea flavor.

As a new way to enjoy Japanese tea, Ujien has created "BOTTLING TEA", which is made from carefully selected high-grade tea leaves in a glass bottle using a brewing method that is as close as possible to that used to brew tea in a kyusu teapot, with the hope of letting people around the world know the beauty of Japanese tea and passing on Japanese tea culture to the next generation. We have created "BOTTLING TEA". With the increasing diversification of lifestyles, it is now possible to enjoy Japanese tea in a new way that has never been seen before. It is a proposal of a way to enjoy Japanese tea that can accompany a toast with champagne, wine or liquor. Sending "Cheers" with Japanese tea to the world!

Uji green tea of the highest quality

Uji green tea of the highest quality

All of the numerous matcha products manufactured by carefully selecting the tea leaves used to make matcha are of high quality. Various grades are offered at different price points. The price difference between the highest quality matcha and the most reasonable grade matcha can be as much as 50 times. The highest ceremonial grade matcha is rare and requires reservations.

We can meet all your matcha needs.

We can meet all your matcha needs.

There are many factors other than the place of origin that determine the quality of matcha, but the most important are the time of picking and the processing method. Matcha produced using only the first-picked tea leaves is of the highest quality, and the grade decreases as the percentage of second- and third-picked tea leaves blended in increases.
Even inexpensive grade products are compatible with the raw materials used in the final product, so a wide variety of products are available to meet your needs.

We are focusing on developing products that are not just a palatable beverage, but that go one step further and are designed to marry with food. Our bottled teas, with their stately beatitude befitting a high-quality meal, are increasingly setting the standard for non-alcoholic drinks in situations where wine is the toast of the day.

From Drinking Tea to Eating Tea

From Drinking Tea to Eating Tea

When tea leaves are considered as a culinary ingredient, powdered tea leaves, such as matcha and hojicha powder, are a perfect match for sweets. In particular, matcha sweets made with high quality matcha are exceptional in both the color and taste of the product. The taste is sure to make sweets fans swoon.

Greeting

Ujien will continue to contribute to people's health, healing of the mind, and enrichment of their lives, based on the knowledge and experience gained through the "single-minded pursuit of tea" since its establishment in Yamashiro, Kyoto, the birthplace of Ujien, and using the sensitivity refined in Shinsaibashi, Osaka, the commercial capital.
Since its establishment in Yamashiro, Kyoto in 1872 by Genpei Shigemura as a "tombi" (middleman), the history of Ujien has been a history of challenges to keep up with the times: wholesale business, processing business with the construction of our own factory, and retail business in the commercial capital of Osaka.
In the 21st century, Ujien has continued to expand its business by opening multiple tea stores in department stores and shopping centers, selling tea sweets, and developing food and beverage businesses such as coffee shops, Japanese cafes, and matcha bars.
We will continue to push forward with the belief that the road to perpetuity lies in the repetition of challenges that leave us no time to breathe.
